Christmas comes early...

GraceInk HQ has been looking somewhat like I would imagine Father Christmas's grotto would look like if he was into screen-printing as much as me. The elf (that'll be me then) has been busy printing and bejewelling Christmas cards all week for shops and my next upcoming fair, the Art Market in Holmfirth. And today the envelopes arrived in silvers and golds to finish off the cards a treat...looking forward to selling a few when the festive season starts! In true GraceInk style the images are a festive take on birdcages and russian dolls and have been waiting all year to take a bow...

Hoorah! Russian Dolls finally make it to print...

It's been a long time coming but the first of my new Russian Doll pattern has been printed onto canvas bags in a pretty purple colour, just got to decide what colour ribbon to accessorise with. They'll be making their debut at next weekends Crossing Borders Art Trail, where artists and crafts people in my local area (Scottish Borders) open their doors so you can see where the magic happens! I'll be taking residence at a friend's house for the duration as a few weeks later my studio will be opening its doors for the WASPS open studio weekend extravaganza.

London Town!

Just wanted to highlight the very successful Selvedge Fair last Saturday, as you can see from the picture above it was heaving! The hall had been decorated by Amy Butler design, there were yummy cakes for sale on the stage and the goodie bags vanished within the first few hours which just shows the throngs of people that came through the doors.

I happened to be right next to the front desk which meant there was always a stream of people to chat and sell too. My new Russian Doll card was very popular, fabric to follow soon...maybe a picture too!

There was lots of lovely stalls, I wanted to buy tonnes but that is generally self defeating as you end up spending more than you make!! So I made do with a screen-printed 'hello' card by Charlotte Farmer and here too, a birdy brooch from The Natural Store stand but made by Art House Meath which is a 'social enterprise celebrating artistic talents of adults living with Epilepsy and learning difficulties' and a swapsie for one of hazell designs hand bound books...so cute and beautiful.
